VASAGLE SONGMICS Ergonomic Mesh Office Chair: Best for a standard desk setup

9.1/10Our score

• Adjustable lumbar support and headrest
• Mesh back
• Flip-up armrests

This mesh chair pairs adjustable lumbar support and a headrest with a 90–105 degree tilt. Flip-up armrests help it slide under a desk when you need floor space.

See it on Amazon

Pros

• Lumbar support adjusts
• Headrest included
• Arms flip up

Cons

• Seat height range may not fit every desk
• Keep mesh away from sharp objects

The VASAGLE SONGMICS chair brings together a mesh back, foam-padded adjustable lumbar support, and a headrest. Its seat height adjusts from 17.7 to 21.7 in, and the back tilts between 90 and 105 degrees.

Flip-up armrests are useful when you want to slide the chair under a desk. Check that the arm height and seat position work with your desk, since a chair can have useful adjustments and still sit poorly at the workspace.

The chair has a 19.7 x 19.7 in seat and a stated maximum load of 331 lb. Keep the mesh away from sharp objects, as they can damage its surface.

SONGMICS Drafting Chair: Best for standing desks and counters

8.2/10Our score

• Seat height adjusts from 41.3 to 49.2 in
• Adjustable foot ring
• Flip-up armrests

This tall SONGMICS chair is made for standing desks or home bar counters. Its adjustable foot ring gives your feet a place to rest at the raised seat height.

See it on Amazon

Pros

• Tall height range
• Adjustable foot ring
• Lumbar pad adjusts

Cons

• Too tall for many standard desks
• Measure desk height before choosing

The SONGMICS Drafting Chair serves a different work surface. Its seat height runs from 41.3 to 49.2 in, with an adjustable circular foot ring to support your feet at a raised desk or counter.

The mesh back has a height-adjustable lumbar pad, and the 3.5 in cushion has a waterfall front edge. Flip-up arms fold away when you need more room to move or get close to the work surface.

Measure the desk and the space around it before choosing this chair. Its seat height is far above the VASAGLE SONGMICS model, so it won't suit a standard desk setup.

Choose it for a standing desk or home bar counter where a tall seat and foot ring make sense. If older adults are part of your household, compare entry, arm support, and seat height in our guide to Best Office Chair For Seniors.

How do the SONGMICS chairs compare with other office chairs?

The SONGMICS options stand out here for distinct desk heights: one is a standard desk chair and the other is an extended-height drafting chair. Other models in this roundup offer different combinations of upholstery, headrests, armrests, and recline.

The SIHOO M18 Ergonomic Office Chair includes a mesh back, adjustable headrest, lumbar support, seat height, and back support. SIHOO gives a suggested user height range of 5 ft 6 in to 6 ft 2 in, so compare that with your own fit needs.

The Mimoglad Office Chair also has an adjustable headrest and lumbar support, with flip-up arms and a recline function. Its Moon Grey finish provides a color alternative to the black mesh choices.

For a more compact, armless shape, the Yaheetech chair has a seat height adjustment from 18 to 22 in and a tufted faux leather seat and back. The BestOffice chair is another armless option, with a mesh back and a cushioned seat.

The Amazon Basics Classic Faux Leather Office Desk chair is different from a full task chair: it's described as a guest chair, with padded arms and a metal frame. Consider it for visitor seating rather than relying on it for adjustable work support.

What should you check before choosing a SONGMICS office chair?

Start with desk height and seat height, then check support and arm clearance. Those measurements help narrow the choice before you compare comfort features.

For a standard desk, compare the VASAGLE SONGMICS chair's 17.7–21.7 in seat range with the height of your desk and your seated position. The drafting model's 41.3–49.2 in range is intended for much higher surfaces.

Look at lumbar support and headrest adjustment if you want to position support around your body. The standard SONGMICS chair has adjustable lumbar support and a headrest, while the drafting model has a height-adjustable lumbar pad.

Think about what the arms need to do. Both SONGMICS chairs have flip-up arms, which can make it easier to tuck them away or move close to a desk.

A mesh back can allow airflow, while faux leather gives a different surface and look. For another home office setup, see Best Office Chair For Home Office.

Which SONGMICS office chair should you choose?

Choose the VASAGLE SONGMICS Ergonomic Mesh Office Chair for a standard desk and adjustable lumbar support. Choose the SONGMICS Drafting Chair when your work surface is standing-desk or counter height and you need an adjustable foot ring.

If neither height fits your setup, compare your desk measurements with other chair types before deciding. Our guide to How to Compare Office Chair Brands? offers a simple way to weigh fit and features across brands.

Frequently asked questions

Does SONGMICS make office chairs for standard desks?

Yes. The VASAGLE SONGMICS Ergonomic Mesh Office Chair has a seat height range of 17.7–21.7 in, plus adjustable lumbar support and a headrest.

Measure from the floor to the underside of your desk and compare it with the chair's seat range before deciding.

Which SONGMICS chair suits a standing desk?

The SONGMICS Drafting Chair is the tall option here, with a seat height range of 41.3–49.2 in and an adjustable foot ring.

Check your standing desk's working height and foot support needs. Its seat sits far higher than a typical office chair.

Are SONGMICS office chairs adjustable?

The two SONGMICS models here adjust in different ways. The mesh chair has adjustable lumbar support and headrest, flip-up arms, seat height adjustment, and tilt; the drafting chair has a height-adjustable lumbar pad, foot ring, and flip-up arms.

Choose based on the adjustment you need and your desk height.

How should I compare chairs from different brands?

Compare seat height range, back and lumbar support, arm design, and whether the chair fits your desk. Those details show more about fit than brand name alone.
